What's in your daily bag? Field service kit rundown.

Starting a debate that never gets old: what's actually in your daily bag? Not your truck, not your big kit — just what you carry on your person or in a single bag to a service call every day.

I'll start: Fluke 87V, Klein 11-in-1, Knipex pliers, lineman's, two screwdrivers, Klein electrician's scissors, voltage detector (NCVT-3P), wire stripper, label maker, flashlight. That's it.

HVAC/commercial guy here: Fieldpiece SC680 clamp meter, Fieldpiece SDMN6 manometer (yes I carry it daily), Klein 11-in-1, Greenlee GT-12 tone generator, snap ring pliers, Leatherman Wave+, Sharpies. The manometer sounds like overkill but once you have it you use it constantly.

NEC handbook (the actual book, not the app — the app crashes at the worst times), inspector's badge, Fluke 179, 3-outlet tester, voltage sniffer, and my coffee thermos. The code book is my most used tool.

Fluke 376 FC, Fluke 1LAC-A II tick tracer, Klein 11-in-1, Knipex 09 02 240, side cutters, needle nose, two flat heads, two Phillips (including a #2 stubby), wire stripper (Klein 11055GLW), electrical tape, Ideal yellow wire nuts, terminal labels, and a Streamlight Stylus Pro. The Fluke 376 FC wireless feature has paid for itself a dozen times.
