22-panel residential array — SolarEdge HD-Wave with Tesla backup

Finished a 22-panel 9.24kW residential install this week. South-facing, 6/12 pitch, comp shingle. Full rundown:

Panels: Qcells Q.PEAK DUO BLK ML-G10+ 420W
Inverter: SolarEdge SE7600H HD-Wave
Optimizers: P401 on each panel
Storage: 2x Tesla Powerwall 3 (27kWh total)
Racking: IronRidge XR10 with Flash Foot 2 attachments

Commissioning took about 4 hours including the Powerwall pairing and grid interconnection. SolarEdge HD-Wave is one of the smoother inverters to commission — the app-based setup has gotten a lot better.

Customer's utility is PSEG New Jersey with net metering. Estimated payback at current rates: 8.2 years.

Flash Foot 2 on comp shingle is my standard too. What was your lag spacing? I've been going every other rafter (32" OC) on steeper pitches but dropping to every rafter (16" OC) on low slope.

Nice install. Two Powerwall 3s is good sizing for a 9.2kW array in NJ. How did the Tesla gateway interconnect approval go with PSEG? Their interconnection team has been slow lately — curious if you had any delays.

Did you go with rapid shutdown compliant optimizers throughout? NJ requires RSD at this point and SolarEdge P401 handles that. Good choice — some installers in the state are still fighting that compliance battle.
